THE LIGHT IN DARKNESS
*sorry for the late update... im so busy lately...and my trial just around the corner...sorry*
The
next few days, he still hasn’t wake up yet. I came and sat beside him, hoping
for him to wake up. I held his hands, and kissed his forehead gently.
“Please,
wake up… I know you can hear me.”
A
few hours past, I fell asleep besides him, and that’s where the miracle happens.
He suddenly woke up. Leon seems confused for a while.
Where
am I? How can I end up here? Then he felt a hand on his chest, he slowly
strokes my hair. I immediately woke up!
“Leon!
You’re awake, finally!” I said with tears fell down, happy. I quickly called
the nurses and doctor. They came in and checked him.
“Well
Mr. Kennedy, how impressive! You’ve such a high spirit to recover. I’m so
impressed with you.”
“That’s
because my source of life is always beside me,” he said. I pinched his arm.
“You’re
a little rascal” and I hugged him.
“I
love you too…” he whispered to me, and my tears flow again.
The
next day, I came to visit him again. His friends are all there, Steve, Barry,
Ada, Hunnigan, Claire and Chris.
“Hey
Leon! How’re you feeling today?”
“Much
better!”
Then,
Steve’s interfering our conversation.
“Guess
our mister Kennedy has something to tell ya.”
Leon
went furious and smacks Steve’s head with his fist, hard.
“Ouch!
What was that for?”
“You’re
spoiling everything!”
“What?
I’m just wanna help ya!”
I
was confused. What are they talking about? I was unpacking the foods I brought
for him that time. Leon woke up from his bed and slowly walks to me, with
Steve’s help, of course. He was holding something on his hand. What is he up
to? Suddenly he knelt in front of me. I was shocked.
“Jasmine,
all this while, I’ve been thinking… will…will you, be my wife?”
I
was shocked and almost dropped the flask. Is he seriously wanted to take me as
his wife? His friends started to make a sound….
“woohoo!
You go man!
“That’s
my man!”
“Just
accept it!”
I
looked at him. He looks nervous, and he’s sweating, hard. Leon’s knees started
to shake. I smiled to him, and leaned my hand to him.
“I
do…”
And
all his friends cheering for us, till the head nurse came in.
“Keep
quiet or I’ll kick your asses’ outta here!”
And
they all went silent, pretending like there’s nothing happen.
Leon
stands up, and wanted to kiss me, but Barry and Steve pulled him away from me.
“Oh
no, you’ll have to wait from kissing your future-wife-to-be for now. Your mouth
stinks like hell right now!” Steve’s said.
“What?
Awww come on man!”
“No
means no!”Barry said.
I
giggled watching their antics.
“Yeah,
Leon. Your breath stinks,” I said to him, jokingly, and he made a sad puppy
face. We all laughed really hard.
Again,
the same head nurse came and….
“YOU
BETTER GET OUT NOW BEFORE I BURN YOUR ASSES! YOU’RE DISTURBING OTHER PATIENTS!”
And
they all quickly ran out from there before the nurse burn their precious asses.
The furious nurse went near to Leon’s and scolded him.
“You’re
still sick and need a lot of rest! Next time, don’t ever try to do any crazy
shit!” and the nurse smacked Leon’s broken leg, causing him cried out in pain. I
laughed at him.
A
few months past, our wedding day finally arrived, and Leon had fully recovered.
Our theme was Japanese traditional wedding with a hint of gothic touch. I was
in my room, getting ready. It was like a dream come true.
“you
look gorgeous, Jasmine,” Claire
“thank
you, Claire.”
Then,
my sister and my grandmother came in with a bouquet of black and white roses
for me. I was so happy to see them, and I ran to them and gave a bear hug.
“you
look so beautiful, Jasmine. Just like your mother,” my grandmother said.
I
shed tears when she mentioned about mother. How I wish mom was still alive and
sees me on my wedding day. My sister wiped my tears off. I smiled.
“ready
to go?”
I
took the flowers and grope it tightly. I inhaled and then exhaled.
“I’m
ready!”
They
escorted me to the altar. There, I see Leon, elegantly waiting for me with his
sexy smile. The ceremony begins and finally been declare as husband and wife.
All the guests cheering for us. As others were feasting, we went out, sat
nearby the fish pond.
“I’m
happy we’re finally married.”
“yeah,
and I wanna say thank you…..”
“what
for?”
I
held his hand softly and smiled to him.
“…for
lighten up my dark life. I can’t imagine if you didn’t help me that night. I’m
sure my life will be more miserable than before.”
He
smiles and brushed my cheek, softly and gently.
Then,
we kissed under the bright moonlight and sparkling stars. Wind blew, carrying
the sakura scents, giving such an eternal bliss.
“I
love you, and I promise… as long I’m around, I will protect you,” Leon said to
me.
“I
love you too, Leon, for eternity….”
~THE
END~
